About Us

FOUR DADS. ONE GARAGE.

Half Past Now

Half Past Now 🎸

Four guys from the same neighborhood in a suburb north of Atlanta. We have real jobs, real mortgages, and kids who have complicated feelings about our music.

It started in Ryan's garage about four years ago. Not anyone's idea of a plan, just something that happened after one too many conversations about how much we missed actually playing. Turns out Derek has a surprisingly well-soundproofed basement, and that became the studio. One thing led to another.

We don't show our faces because our careers make that complicated. Honestly, the music should stand on its own anyway.

The TikTok thing happened because Derek's kid thought it was funny and dared us to post. We are glad she did.

We peaked on Napster. We came back on Spotify. Our kids are embarrassed. Releases happen when life allows, which is to say: unpredictably, and always later than we planned.

MEET THE DADS

Real people. Real careers. Fake stage names.

We don't show our faces. Our employers would appreciate it.

Anthony🎤

Vocals / Guitar

awayat a meeting brb

IT infrastructure for a healthcare system in midtown Atlanta. Married, two kids (8 and 5). Got back into playing when his youngest asked why the guitar was just collecting dust in the corner. Dashboard Confessional changed his life and he's not sorry about it. Forgets lyrics mid-song more often than he'd like to admit, which is impressive for a guy who's had twenty years to learn them.

"I peaked in 2003 and I'm okay with that."

Ryan🎸

Lead Guitar / Backing Vocals

onlinein the garage

Commercial real estate agent. Three kids across a blended household. Learned guitar from YouTube tabs during the pandemic and somehow never stopped. Owns the garage where they practice, which required clearing out four years of accumulated life to make happen. Nobody has asked what he did with all of it. Texts riff ideas at 11pm without apology and will continue to do so.

"The garage smells like old carpet and possibility."

Derek🎵

Bass

busysoundproofing

Supply chain manager at a logistics company. One kid (12). Rides bikes obsessively on weekends. Picked up bass because someone had to. Discovered he was actually good at it, which was not part of the plan either. His basement became the studio. Soundproofed two corners himself and spent more on acoustic foam than he told his wife. His kid dared them to post on TikTok. Still uncomfortable with how far it went.

"This was not the plan."

Paul🥁

Drums

awaydriving kids home

Sales at a manufacturing company. Married, two teenagers who are politely unimpressed. Was the least musical when they started. Is now the backbone. Nobody is more surprised about this than Paul. Grew up on Sum 41 and Blink-182. Considers this whole thing a nostalgia project that got slightly out of hand. Shows up every Wednesday and Friday, rain or shine, which in a band of busy dads is basically a superpower.

"My jokes are bad. My timing is excellent."

“We still haven't played a real show.”

We need to find the good scissors first.

(And someone has to figure out what size screen to use for the shirts. Derek says he knows a guy.)
